Volunteer

Throughout the year there are many opportunities to serve here at the Center, as well as the community at large.

Purpose & Mission

It takes a village…we believe in unity. It is our intention to not only serve our own spiritual community, but to be a light in our local community, as well as a light in the global community.

On-going service projects include.

St Vincent de Paul — We have been providing volunteers in downtown San Diego for the past several years, where we work together to provide a healthy meal and a personal sense of connection for our friends at St. Vincent de Paul and for us. Although our intention is to give to others, what we receive is so much greater than what we give.

This selfless service only requires 4 or 4.5 hours of our time and it makes an amazing difference to those we serve. Twelve people are needed for each shift which takes place the fifth Saturday of any month.

Adopt-A-Highway — Each month, a team of volunteers meets on a Saturday morning to clean-up the side of the highway. We have been assigned a two-mile stretch on 54 East. We all have the power to make a difference and this activity is one of our gifts to the universe.

You are invited to join us. This experience has proven to be much more than trash pick-up. It offers fellowship, a closer look at the beauty we miss as we speed down the highways, and a great feeling of accomplishment.

To ensure your safety, training is required (it takes about an hour). So, if you’re interested, please call the Center office and we’ll include you in the next training session.
